In boxing today, talent is not enough to get into the ring and seek glory against rivals. You also have to do it with the greatest possible style for the benefit of the audience and sponsors, although it is often for the satisfaction of each fighter

A tribute to a favorite film of generations

Perhaps in that category is Rolly Romero, who will step into the ring in Times Square, Manhattan, New York, to face Ryan Garcia wearing a customized version of what may be the most coveted sneakers in history, made for the occasion by Aztek Kustoms’ Jose Coronado.

This is a model reimagined by the firm of the most stylish sneakers ever seen and that many believed did not exist or were only the product of Robert Zemeckis’ imagination, who showed them to the world for the first time in the second part of his film saga ‘Back to the Future’: the famous Nike Marty McFly sneakers that featured self-adjustment and futuristic LEDs.

Romero will be ‘Marty McFly’, but not ‘chicken’

The sports shoes that Aztek Kustoms made for Romero are completely functional, with active LEDs and the original markings that helped to recreate as closely as possible the legendary model worn by actor Michael J. Fox in the film. But that’s not all, the Las Vegas, Nevada-born boxer will also go out to fight ‘KingRy’ wearing a set of robes and shorts inspired by the famous ‘hoverboard‘ from Mattel that is also shown in the film.

This tribute to ‘Back to the Future’ is not the first that Jose Coronado has made for Romero’s fights, as he has previously made sports boots inspired by Bruce Lee, Frank Ocean and Prince, among other themes that the pugilist is passionate about.
