The second Grand Slam of the season arrives on the clay courts of Roland Garros. The Parisian tournament kicks off on May 19 with the preliminary rounds and will run until June 8 with the men’s final.

Carlos Alcaraz will defend the title he won in 2024. The ATP number two arrives at the tournament after his recent triumph in the Rome Masters 1000, where he returned to competition after overcoming the injury that kept him out of the Mutua Madrid Open. The tournament will also have a special day on Sunday, May 25, when Rafa Nadal will be honored.

Dates and times of Roland Garros 2025: tribute to Rafael Nadal

The qualifying rounds of Roland Garros will be held from May 19 to 23. On the first three days, play will start at 4:00 am, while on May 22 and 23 it will start at 5:00 am.

The matches begin on the Philippe Chatrier at 6:00 am noon from May 25 to May 31 and at different times during the rest of the tournament. Play begins at 5:00 am on the other courts. The night session (one singles match) on the Philippe Chatrier will be played from May 25 to June 4, not before 2:15 pm.

The main draw will begin on May 25 from 5:00 am until the last match no earlier than 2:15 pm. After the last match of the day session, a ceremony in honor of Rafa Nadal will be held at the Philipe Chatrier. The first round will continue between May 26 and 27. The second round will be between Wednesday, May 28 and Thursday, May 29. The third round will be held on May 30 and June 1. The round of 16 will be played between June 1 and June 2.

The quarterfinals will take place on June 3 and 4, starting at 5:00 am in the morning session and from 2:15 pm in the evening session. The women’s semifinals will be on June 5 starting no earlier than 9:00 am. The men’s semifinals will be on June 6. The first one, not before 8:30 am and the second one, not before 11:30 am. The women’s final is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, starting at 9:00 am. The men’s final is scheduled for Sunday, June 8, also starting at 9:00 am.

This year’s tournament marks the beginning of Warner Bros. Discovery’s 10-year deal to broadcast the French Open in the US on TNT Sports. TNT will be the lead network, with additional coverage on TBS and truTV. Every match will also be streamed on Max.
