The Pittsburgh Steelers are back in the postseason, but they enter their wild-card matchup against the Baltimore Ravens on a rough streak.
Having lost four straight games, the Steelers will face a daunting challenge playing in Baltimore, where Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are the clear favorites. However, former NFL star Rob Gronkowski isn’t ready to count Pittsburgh out.
In fact, he believes the Steelers are well-positioned to pull off an upset against their divisional rivals.
Gronkowski’s bold prediction
On a recent episode of the Up & Adams Show, Gronkowski shared his take on the matchup and urged fans to put their money on the Steelers, citing Pittsburgh’s strong historical record against Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

“Anyone that loves a bet, put your money on the Steelers. I’m not saying who is going to win, but these games are usually decided within seven points,” Gronkowski said.
“The Steelers are healthy, and it’s the best matchup for struggling Steelers. They match very well against Baltimore. They know them like the back of their hand, and it’s Lamar‘s Kryptonite is the Pittsburgh Steelers“
The Steelers have a reputation for being a tough matchup for the Ravens, and Gronkowski points to the familiarity both teams have with each other as a key factor.
Despite the Steelers‘ rough patch, Gronk believes their deep knowledge of Baltimore’s style could give them an edge, making this an exciting rivalry with high stakes.
Jackson’s struggles against Pittsburgh
Lamar Jackson‘s career record against the Steelers isn’t particularly impressive, which only fuels the belief that the Steelers are his kryptonite.
With a 3-5 career record against Pittsburgh, including a split this season, Jackson will need to bring his best performance to secure a win for the Ravens.
In the two games between the teams this season, Jackson threw for 414 yards and four touchdowns but also turned the ball over four times.
While he played well at home, it was clear that much of the Ravens‘ success came from their defense and the efforts of running back Derrick Henry.
Jackson’s playoff record of 2-4 also gives Pittsburgh fans hope. If the Steelers can exploit Jackson’s weaknesses, they might have a shot at advancing.
But it’s not just about Jackson’s struggles-Pittsburgh will have to address their own shortcomings to pull off the upset.
