Rob Gronkowski did not miss the opportunity to joke about his old friend and former teammate Tom Brady

During an interview when asked about the shirtless photos of Brady circulating on social media, the former Patriots and Buccaneers tight end gave a response, true to his cheerful and playful style:

“I never would have thought that,” Gronk replied when asked if he envisioned Brady as a regular shirtless photo star. “He was always a little nervous to take his shirt off in the locker room. He had more of a dad bod when he was playing. Now he looks like he’s slimmed down a little bit, he’s almost got abs. All that baby fat and playing fat is gone now. He looks good!”

“You look good for 60.”

Why is Tom Brady’s physique being criticized?

During his two decades in the NFL, Brady was sometimes criticised for not having the typical muscular physique of an NFL superstar, although this never stopped him from becoming a legend and, for many, the greatest quarterback of all time

Gronkowski, who shared a locker room with him at both New England and Tampa Bay, acknowledged this contrast: “He had a little more game fat,” he joked. But now, without the weekly demands of games and with a meticulous physical routine, Brady seems to be in his best shape.

Although Gronk’s comments were clearly humorous, they reflect a reality: Tom Brady is still in the news, even away from the gridiron. This time, not for his arm or his accuracy, but for his discipline and enviable physique at almost 50 years of age.
