The Los Angeles Rams’ crushing 35-7 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars not only caught everyone’s attention as one of the NFL’s international games in London, but also because of a curious celebration.
Rams rookie receiver Konata Mumpfield scored his first official touchdown in the league and, to celebrate, imitated soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo.
CR7, present in the NFL thanks to Mumpfield
Under the watchful eye of the crowd at London’s legendary Wembley Stadium, Konata crossed the end zone and recorded his first 5-yard TD.
He was so happy that, to celebrate, he took a couple of steps, turned and spread his arms like the Portuguese soccer star, shouting “SIUUU“.
Of course, this gesture by the 22-year-old from Pittsburgh did not go unnoticed by the spectators, who went wild with his celebration, nor by X users. After the league’s official account shared the clip of this iconic moment, fans were quick to comment:
“Scored overseas and brought out the siuuuu, Mumpfield’s got global game,” wrote one fan. “Perfect celebration,” commented another follower. “Good job rookie!!!!!” congratulated another.
The rookie receiver entered Week 7 with only one seven-yard reception in his career, but after Puka Nacua injured his ankle, Sean McVay trusted Konata to fill in, and he seized the opportunity to shine. This TD and new victory helped the Rams improve their record to 5-2.
Meanwhile, the Rams will face the New Orleans Saints next Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
On the other hand, there are only two international games left in 2025: Atlanta Falcons vs. Indianapolis Colts in Berlin, Germany, on November 9 at the Olympic Stadium, and Washington Commanders vs. Miami Dolphins on Sunday, November 16, in Madrid, Spain, at the Bernabéu Stadium.
