The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly becoming weary of the constant attention surrounding their star quarterback Matthew Stafford, with his wife Kelly’s vocal criticism of the team only adding to the tension.
On his show The Herd, Colin Cowherd shared that the Rams‘ front office has grown frustrated with Stafford’s performance-related discussions and Kelly Stafford’s podcast comments. Kelly has openly criticized the Rams‘ front office, especially for their decision to trade wide receiver Cooper Kupp in an attempt to restructure the team.
Kelly Stafford’s public criticism of the Rams
“My husband, like, wants to win. He’s not trying to put a team in a bad situation,” Kelly said on The Morning After podcast. Her remarks reflect a growing frustration with the team’s decisions, especially as they were close to a deep playoff run.
Trade rumors and Stafford’s future
While the Rams still like Stafford, Cowherd revealed that they are “tiring” of the drama, which includes Kelly’s outspoken views. The team is also reportedly not interested in restructuring Stafford’s contract or offering him a new deal. Rumors about potential trade destinations for Stafford are swirling, with the New York Giants emerging as a possible candidate. Despite interest, the Rams have not indicated any intention to part with their quarterback.
Stafford, currently 37, is still in the middle of contract discussions, which have been ongoing since last season. If the Rams and Stafford part ways, Cowherd suggested that Aaron Rodgers could be a potential short-term solution for the team.
