The Los Angeles Rams survived a stunning, last-second heroics from Caleb Williams, defeating the Chicago Bears20-17 in overtime Sunday night to advance to the NFC Championship Game.
Williams delivered a breathtaking touchdown pass on fourth down with just 18 seconds left to force overtime, but the Rams answered with poise and pressure. On Chicago’s first possession of OT, Kam Curl intercepted Williams, swinging momentum back to Los Angeles.
Matthew Stafford then led a calm, surgical drive, capped by a clutch 42-yard field goal from Harrison Mevis, silencing a crowd that had been electric moments earlier.
The Rams will now face NFC West rival Seattle next weekend, reaching the conference title game for the first time since their Super Bowl-winning 2021 season.
Despite two touchdown passes, Williams’ three interceptions proved costly as Chicago’s remarkable playoff run under first-year coach Ben Johnson ended one step short of the NFC title game.
