As the NFL offseason heats up, one of the league’s most intriguing free agents, Stefon Diggs, remains without a team. After a frustrating 2024 season with the Houston Texans, where his campaign was cut short due to a torn ACL, the four-time Pro Bowler is now on the hunt for a new opportunity.
While no deal has been finalized, two potential landing spots have sparked speculation among fans: a return to the Buffalo Bills or a fresh start with the Las Vegas Raiders.
Could a return to Buffalo be in the cards?
Over the weekend, Diggs sent Bills fans into a frenzy after reportedly restoring old social media posts from his time in Buffalo. This move, while subtle, didn’t go unnoticed, with many interpreting it as a hint toward a possible reunion.
His exit from the Bills last offseason was clouded by tension with quarterback Josh Allen and frustration with the coaching staff. The team traded Diggs to Houston in April 2024, marking the end of a highly productive yet tumultuous stint in Buffalo.
However, time has a way of healing wounds, and with Buffalo still lacking a true No. 1 receiver, some believe that a second chapter with the Bills isn’t out of the question.
Raiders rumors grow after Diggs works out with Geno Smith
Meanwhile, another team has entered the mix-the Las Vegas Raiders. A recent Instagram video showing Diggs catching passes from quarterback Geno Smith has fueled speculation that the veteran receiver could be eyeing a move to Las Vegas.
The video, shared by Alkeme Performance, showed Diggs running sharp routes and looking fully recovered from his ACL tear. Raiders fans quickly jumped on the potential connection between Diggs and Smith, who recently signed with the team.
Las Vegas desperately needs an elite wide receiver, making Diggs an ideal candidate to bolster their offense. If he were to join the Raiders, he would immediately become a key weapon in their passing attack.
Before his injury-shortened 2024 season, Diggs had built a reputation as one of the league’s most consistent receivers. From 2018 to 2023, he recorded six straight 1,000-yard seasons, proving himself as a top-tier pass-catcher for both Josh Allen in Buffalo and Kirk Cousins in Minnesota before that.
Last season, however, was a different story. Limited to just eight games, he finished with 47 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns. While his production was still solid, it was far from the dominant numbers he had posted in previous years.
