Founded in 1750, French leather institution Au Départ partners with PSG and basketball icon/Kevin Durant (a PSG minority owner since his 2024 Paris Olympic gold) to drop a travel-focused capsule. The collab celebrates Durant’s role in bridging PSG’s Paris roots and U.S. growth strategy – including potential NBA expansion.
The collection reimagines Au Départ’s signature pieces: the Tote No.55 features diamond-monogram jacquard with racing stripes; the modular Square Pouch 26 adapts crossbody/shoulder/handheld wear; and luggage tags bear “FROM D.C. TO PARIS” – a nod to Durant’s hometown and PSG’s base.
Streetwear Synergy
Simultaneously, Durant’s media company Boardroom unveils a separate PSG capsule: varsity jackets (detailed with Capitol/Eiffel Tower embroidery), cherry blossom-themed jerseys, co-branded basketballs, and custom Nike Air Force 1s – all echoing the “D.C. to Paris” motif.
Both collections merge PSG’s red/blue/white palette with luxury finishes: Au Départ’s vegetable-tanned leather contrasts Boardroom’s technical fabrics. Shared symbols include Durant’s dribbling silhouette, co-branded logos, and dual-city iconography.
The leather goods launched June 16 at PSG’s LA pop-up, Fanatics Fest NYC, and Au Départ boutiques/online. Boardroom’s apparel debuted exclusively at Fanatics Fest (online TBA), with both lines targeting U.S. luxury and sneakerhead markets during the Club World Cup spotlight.
This triple-collab transcends products – it’s a cultural handshake. Durant’s involvement as investor and collaborator accelerates PSG’s stateside ambitions, while Au Départ gains street cred, proving football’s luxury potential extends beyond jerseys.
