Shaquille O’Neal’s candid comments on TNT regarding the Detroit Pistons have stirred up a storm on social media.

The team’s official X account didn’t miss a beat and jumped right into the fray to roast the Hall of Fame center.

Pistons troll Shaq hard on social media

During a recent broadcast, O’Neal openly admitted that he doesn’t watch Detroit play, dismissing the team as “boring.”

“I don’t watch Detroit,”O’Neal said, with a lack of enthusiasm for the team’s current performance.

This comment came despite the Pistons’ remarkable turnaround this season.

After finishing with a dismal 14-68 record last year, the Pistons have quickly become one of the most exciting teams in the NBA, currently sitting as the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference with a 37-29 record.

The remark came with a dash of irony, as O’Neal, who was famously part of the Lakers squad that lost to the Pistons in the 2004 NBA Finals, gave credit to Chauncey Billups for coaching Detroit, a mistake that didn’t go unnoticed.

The Pistons’ current coach is JB Bickerstaff, while Billups coaches the Portland Trail Blazers.

In response, the Pistons’ official social media account posted a meme mocking O’Neal for overlooking the team once again, captioning it, “Nothing new here.”

The jab is a reference to the Pistons’ 2004 Finals upset, where they shocked the Lakers to win the championship.

While fans were quick to defend the Pistons, standout center Jalen Duren had the perfect rebuttal to O’Neal’s dismissive remarks.

“When it’s time, I just want both the clips back-to-back of when he realizes we’re here and when he acts like he didn’t know,”Duren said, expressing a desire to earn respect and prove the doubters wrong.

Despite the online trolling, the Pistons are taking it all in stride, using O’Neal’s comments as motivation as they continue their strong push for a playoff spot.

With a 12-3 record over their last 15 games, the Pistons are positioning themselves as a team to watch as the postseason approaches.

Their next challenge comes Thursday night against the Washington Wizards, as Detroit aims to continue its impressive run.
