Catching for Paul Skenes must be a dream come true, but it also requires immense focus and nerves. College catcher Noah Espinoza, an alum of Cal State Fullerton, has been sharing his experiences on Instagram and TikTok. Recently, inside the Chapman Baseball Compound, he had the opportunity to catch for an elite pitcher as Paul Skenes.

Previously, Espinoza also shared a catching video with Vince Velasquez, former Astros and Phillies pitcher. Who seemed happy to help young players to keep training and staying active during off-season.

Chapman Baseball Compound is a premier facility situated in Orange County. Their center focuses are on: hitting, pitching, and strength/conditioning. They provide athletes with everything they need to improve their skills and maximize their potential.

Parents have commented the significant improvements in their sons, aged 11 and in their teens, thanks to the sophisticated coaching and data-driven methods at the compound training. The coaches’ kindness, patience, and expertise have created confidence and a understanding of the game in their young players.

Paul Skenes new teammate

Spencer Horwitz was signed weeks before with the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange of right Luis Ortiz and the pitching prospects; Michael Kennedy y Josh Hartle to the Guardians. The former Blue Jays first base will join a young Pirates roster along with Paul Skenes, Mitch Keller, Johan Oviedo, Nick Gonzales, Ke’Bryan Hayes, Ji Hwan Bae, Oneil Cruz, and Bryan Reynolds.

Last season the right handed Horwitz played 97 games with Toronto with 328 at bats, 87 hits, 46 runs scored, 40 RBI, and 12 HR.
