Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany made headlines once again, this time during a college football showdown hosted at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ home turf was buzzing with energy as Nebraska took on Cincinnati in a high-profile matchup that drew in several celebrities and athletes.

Among the crowd were Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift, marking their first public appearance together since their engagement. The packed stadium, painted in red from top to bottom, resembled a typical Chiefs game day, adding to the electric atmosphere.

The game also had personal meaning for Nebraska quarterback Dylan Raiola. Known for idolizing Mahomes, Raiola has even trained with the Super Bowl MVP during the offseason. Playing at Arrowhead, in front of his role model, added a special layer of pressure and excitement for the young signal-caller, making the night even more memorable.

While fans were focused on the on-field action, the broadcast caught a surprising moment in the stands. Cameras zoomed in on the Mahomes’ suite, revealing a seemingly tense exchange between Patrick and Brittany.

Mahomes appeared to say something that caused Brittany to look visibly confused. Her puzzled expression prompted the quarterback to sit up and respond with what looked like an attempt to explain or clarify, creating a moment of visible awkwardness.

This isn’t the first time the couple has been caught having a less-than-smooth interaction in public. Earlier this year, they were seen having a similar moment courtside at a Dallas Mavericks game, drawing attention across social media.

Mahomes finds new fuel after Madden ratings snub

Outside of family dynamics, Mahomes is also dealing with some professional disrespect that could add extra fire to his game this season.

EA Sports recently unveiled the player ratings for “Madden NFL 26,” and to the surprise of many, Mahomes did not crack the prestigious 99 overall club. Instead, that honor went to Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, quarterbacks Mahomes outperformed in last year’s postseason.

Mahomes was given a 95 overall rating, placing him fourth among quarterbacks. While still impressive, many see it as a slight to one of the league’s most consistent and decorated stars. Despite a slight dip in regular-season production, Mahomes continues to deliver in high-pressure playoff moments.

With critics questioning his dominance and the Madden snub fresh on his mind, Mahomes may be entering the new NFL season with renewed determination and something to prove.
