The Kansas City Chiefs don’t have to worry about the quarterback position, as they have one of the best in the league in Patrick Mahomes. This allows the team the luxury of experimenting with other players who could throw passes instead of the multi-Super Bowl champion.

In this context, a scenario was set up that could be seen as competition for Mahomes, though these players won’t directly challenge him.

The battle for QB5 begins now!

The Chiefs’ official account shared a video showing Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, and Xavier Worthy competing for the role alongside Patrick Mahomes, though the latter throws with his left hand.

“Let the battle for QB5 commence,” they wrote on social media, showcasing the four players performing a passing drill with a rollout to their left, proving that Kansas City Chiefs wide receivers not only have skills for making spectacular catches but also for throwing.

They also invited fans to pick their favorite at the start of the video, though we might all know the final answer.

On another note, this video could also serve as a warning to the rest of the league, signaling that the Kansas City Chiefs offense plans to incorporate some trick plays during the season, expanding their playbook to new possibilities.
