The Kansas City Chiefs are finally back on track after a tough start to the 2025/26 NFL season, landing a big win over the Baltimore Ravens in a statement victory that improves Patrick Mahomes’Super Bowl odds.

After dropping consecutive games to the Los Angeles Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles, the reigning AFC champions were suddenly in an 0-2 hole, looking as though their dynasty could potentially be over.

A franchise accustomed to fast starts needed an immediate response, and that response came quickly with back-to-back wins over the New York Giants (22-9) and Ravens (37-20) to move to within one win of the summit of the AFC West.

The turnaround has restored momentum, not only in the standings but also in the betting markets as the Chiefs a’re now tipped for a deep NFL Playoffs run once again by bookmakers.

What are the Chiefs’ odds to win Super Bowl?

According to BetMGM, the Chiefs began the season with +750 odds to secure their fifth Super Bowl crown. Losses in the first two weeks caused those odds to slide to +1400, sparking concern that the early stumble could derail their campaign.

But with renewed form and bettors regaining confidence, the number has returned to +750. It proves Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are trending in the right direction at last.

“After starting 0-2, the Chiefs odds to win the Super Bowl drifted to +1400,” said BetMGM senior trading manager Christian Cipollini. “Kansas City has since won their last two games with a dominant victory over the Ravens.

“The Chiefs are the most bet team by handle to win the Super Bowl since the end of Week 2.”

Chiefs strike back with major weapon

The Chiefs endured a rocky start in Weeks 1 and 2 with Mahomes largely being the only player looking capable of making anything happen with short, but effective, passes and skilled scrambles and running of the ball.

Whilst Tyquan Thornton had emerged as a solid target and Kelce put up dependable numbers, the offense showed signs of stagnating once again, as it had throughout the 2023 and 2024 NFL seasons.

The struggles raised questions about Kansas City’s offensive rhythm, but those concerns were silenced in Week 4 with a resounding bounce back that had echoes of the team’s high-scoring capability from 2018-2022.

Against Baltimore, Mahomes completed 25-of-37 passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns, and it was the performance Kansas City needed from its leader, distributing scores across four different receivers and displaying the efficiency that defines his game.

But the game was not important just for the 30-year-old’s own outing as the return of rookie wideout Xavier Worthy offers a far healthier receiver corps for the QB to contend with.

Absent for most of Week 1’s game with the Chargers and then the subsequent two contests with a shoulder injury, the 2024 first-round draft pick gave the offense a dynamic element it had been missing.

“He’s just so explosive,” Mahomes said after the game. “When he gets the football in his hands, defenses have to adjust. He gets so much attention that other guys get open.”

Xavier Worthy showcased that explosiveness immediately. He led the team in rushing yards (38), receiving yards (83), and targets (eight), producing a 35-yard run and a 38-yard reception that highlighted his ability to stretch defenses vertically and horizontally.

Though he did not score, his impact was evident in how the Ravens were forced to account for his presence, opening up options for Kelce, Thornton and Pacheco to take advantage.
