So many things must go right for NFL teams to become dynasties. Any franchise can have one good season, but sustaining that success over several years is what separates the great teams from the legendary ones. The Kansas City Chiefs have been able to become the latter, and it’s been thanks to Patrick Mahomes.

When Kansas City traded up 17 spots to draft Mahomes 10th overall, it was considered a reach. Mahomes had incredible arm talent, but he was considered a developmental project. Nagy cracked a joke that he needed Mahomes to at least get one or two questions wrong in order to not raise suspicion. In the end, Nagy’s decision ended up changing the course of NFL history.
