The Kansas City Chiefs secured a first-round playoff bye and home-field advantage after clinching the No. 1 seed in the AFC, a major accomplishment for the team and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
For Mahomes, however, this victory was even more significant, as it aligned with the due date of his wife, Brittany, who was expecting their third child.
The timing couldn’t have been more perfect, allowing Mahomes to enjoy some much-needed time off before diving into the intense playoff action.
On Sunday, the couple welcomed their third child, a daughter named Golden Raye, adding to their growing family, which already includes 3-year-old daughter Sterling Skye and 2-year-old son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon.

The name “Golden,” or “Goldie” for short, fits seamlessly into the Mahomes family’s theme, as the couple also has two dogs named Silver and Steele.
Celebrating the newest addition
Mahomes and Brittany announced their daughter’s arrival on Instagram on Monday, sharing a sweet photo along with the caption: “Golden Raye Mahomes 1/12/25.”
The post was met with an outpouring of love from family, friends, and fans. Among the well-wishers was Patrick’s father, Pat Mahomes Sr., who left a heartfelt message for his daughter-in-law, writing: “Another beautiful granddaughter. Great job Britt.”
Pat Sr., now a grandfather of three, has had a busy year watching his son’s career reach new heights.
Earlier this season, he shared a rare personal moment on X, posting a photo of himself with Mahomes as a baby, as well as a picture of them hugging after a Super Bowl victory.
He captioned the photos, “Life is crazy man,” reflecting on the incredible journey both as a father and a grandfather.
The Mahomes family’s celebration didn’t stop with Pat Sr., as Patrick’s younger brother, Jackson Mahomes, also comment on the baby announcement: “Uncle jack loves her so much already.”
Their mother, Randi, also shared the post on her Instagram Stories, adding her own message: “Grandi x3,” proudly celebrating her new title as a grandmother of three.
