Paige Bueckers is the heavy favorite for the 2025 WNBA Draft, and rightly so, as she has generated a lot of excitement with her tremendous skills and leadership. She finished her collegiate career with a perfect ending by being crowned NCAA champion with the Connecticut Huskies

She is now ready to make the leap to the ‘big leagues’ and could clearly be the number one choice. Bueckers culminated her time at UConn with an outstanding postseason, leading the Huskies to the NCAA title in 2016. She recorded a 40-point game against Oklahoma and averaged 24.8 points per game in the tournament.

She showed great efficiency and regularity, with 54.5% shooting from two-point range and 48.3% from three-point range, as well as excellent ball control, with a ratio of 2.0 assists per turnover, a player who will make a difference

Which team could take her?

It will be a free-for-all to get Paige, Olivia Miles leaves Notre Dame and enters the NCAA transfer portal, not the draft. Washington Mystics, with new coach and GM, have picks 3, 4 and 6. NY, Indiana, Phoenix and Atlanta without first-round picks due to trades. Las Vegas without a pick for violating league rules in 2023.

The unknowns come to all fans, but some are already ready to enter the battle and select her. If nothing strange happens, she would clearly be the first overall pick in the draft and her destiny seems almost ready

Dallas Wings raises its hand with the briefcase ready

The Dallas Wings won the first pick and could go for Paige, who would be practically one of the faces of the franchise and would add a lot, to the point of being the key piece of the project they are looking for, the best way to rebuild after a terrible season

Everything would indicate that this could be her destiny, some sources reveal that she could take close to $75,000, this for coming as a rookie, then this offer would rise if she meets the expectations of the franchise.
