Paige Bueckers vibes thanks to the Cowboys on Thanksgiving: she is an unconditional fan

Paige Bueckers, the Rookie of the Year for the Dallas Wings, has made the most of the time she has away from the WNBA season. She has embraced these months to engage in low-impact sports, to rest, and to enjoy the vacation days and free moments she now has at her disposal. In addition, this past Thanksgiving, she also decided she would celebrate the holiday in an iconic place that has become part of her new home. She chose to have a good time attending a marquee game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium.

Through her social media accounts, people quickly realized she was inside the magical venue built by Jerry Jones, the home of the team with the largest fanbase in the country, the Dallas Cowboys. The Wings guard enjoyed the game from the VIP section, cheering like any other fan and taking in a battle that did not disappoint.

Rumors suggested it would become the highest-rated game in history, potentially surpassing the 42-million mark set by the Giants and Cowboys in 2022 under the same circumstances. This year, projections estimated the audience would reach 55 million viewers.

And it was no surprise. The matchup featured the team that currently generates the highest ratings, the Kansas City Chiefs, against the team with the most followers, the Dallas Cowboys. It also marked the first time Patrick Mahomes played on Thanksgiving, as well as his first appearance at AT&T Stadium. The stage was set, and Paige Bueckers had no intention of missing such a spectacle.

A remarkable victory for the Dallas Cowboys

Entering the game, the Chiefs held a slight advantage over the Cowboys, and at first that seemed to be the case. An early interception thrown by Dak Prescott appeared to signal trouble for the home team; however, they refused to let that mistake define the outcome or dictate their performance.

They regrouped, and the potent offense led by Prescott, Ceedee Lamb, and George Pickens turned the game around, eventually securing the win and improving their record to 6-5-1.

The Cowboys’ defense also deserves special recognition. They have delivered two consecutive games with memorable, spectacular, and extraordinary performances. Few believed in them after the first weeks of the season, but Jerry Jones made key moves before the trade deadline to add essential pieces.

Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and linebacker Logan Wilson have strengthened the unit, especially against the run, an area in which reinforcement was urgently needed and that the front office wisely identified.

Next game for the Dallas Cowboys

In Week 14, the Cowboys will open the slate as visitors against the Detroit Lions. It will be a high-voltage matchup, as the Lions are coming off a divisional loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving.

The game will require the Dallas defense to prove once again that its resurgence is not temporary but here to stay, while the offense must continue doing what it does best: dominating through the air and finding balance on the ground to increase its chances of earning another victory.
