In her first year in the WNBA, Paige Bueckers managed to stand out not only for her team and the league, but with her own brilliance.

With her 19.4 points, 5.1 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.1 steals that she averaged per game this season, the former UConn star transferred her talents to the league and thanked her teammates in a special way.

Paige’s warm gesture to the Wings

Despite the fact that her personal results did not translate into wins for Wings, Bueckers is fully committed to the team. As proof of this, the 23-year-old point guard has made waves with her latest gesture within the organization.

As an end-of-season gift, Paige made sure that each member of the practice squad had new sneakers, presenting them with a pair each.

The reason was mostly out of gratitude, for pushing and demanding her through this year on the team and in the WNBA. In her first year in the league, Bueckers has been one of only ten rookies to start the All-Star Game.

In addition, she is the first rookie guard to record 350+ points and 100+ assists in the first 20 games of her career, and surpassed her personal scoring records in the WNBA (35) and at UConn (40).

On the flip side, however, Dallas racked up 10 straight losses before the final regular season game against Phoenix Mercury, where they took the 97-76 victory. At the bottom of the league standings with a 10-34 record, they were eliminated from the playoffs early.

Now, they will remain active this off-season to continue looking for alternatives and plan to qualify for the playoffs.
