Picked No. 1 overall in this year’s WNBA Draft, Paige Bueckers has a lot of weight to carry on her shoulders. Even with all the success of her pick, Paige doesn’t have it easy.

Dallas Wings are coming off of losing their three-year playoff streak by winning only nine games last season. That’s why Dallas is fully confident that her addition will help the team achieve new and important victories.

All of these expectations fall on Paige. Fortunately, she has a plan to deal with it all and calm her mind to focus on the game.

In the inaugural Game Changers edition of Bustle, Bueckers shared how she gets inner peace prior to games:

I read a couple of my devotionals. “God X Basketball” is one of the books that I read. I pray. And then listen to some music.

And these techniques seem to be paying off, as Paige, at 23 years old, has had an incredible career at UConn and hopes to repeat it with the Wings. Last season she averaged 24.8 points per game and closed her college career with the NCAA title.

Paige Bueckers’ impact

Paige’s arrival in the WNBA has caused great impact. Tickets to watch her debut game are already sold out. In addition, the official Dallas Wings website has increased its visits by 905%, filling with expectations and opening the possibility that the impact will be even greater than last season.
