After being selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the Dallas Wings, Paige Bueckers has established herself as a true star in the WNBA. However, the team seems to be going in the opposite direction and she is no stranger to this.

With eight appearances for the Wings, Paige is close to reaching her personal best streak of 35 points, averaging 6.1 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 17.4 points. Despite her efforts and talent, her success is not reflected in the team.

Dallas maintains a poor 1-11 record, where it could only manage to defeat Connecticut Sun last May 27 by 109-87 at the Mohegan Sun Arena. And the league table is a reflection of their bad streak: they occupy the last place on the list.

Of course, Paige is not indifferent to this situation and she showed her frustration at not being able to beat almost any of her competitors. While practicing shots alone this Monday, she commented:

Everybody breaks their slump against us. People who shoot 20% shoot 50.

This clearly shows the current state of one of the stars and leaders of the team, who can’t seem to find a solution to a problem that Dallas has been accumulating for some time now.

His job in Dallas

Paige Bueckers has a lot of weight to carry on her shoulders. Even with all the success of her choice, Paige doesn’t have it easy.

The Wings, in addition to racking up 11 losses, are coming off a three-year playoff losing streak by winning only nine games last season. That is why Dallas is fully confident that her addition will help the team to achieve new and important victories.

Their next game is against the Golden State Valkyries (5-5) at the Collage Park Center on Tuesday, June 17. Will they manage to break their losing streak?
