Paige Spiranac, the former professional golfer turned social media star, has built a massive following thanks to her skills and bold personality. Rising from a junior golf champion in Colorado to playing NCAA Division I golf at the University of Arizona and San Diego State University, she’s now golf’s biggest influencer with 4 million Instagram followers as of May 2025.

Beyond the course, Spiranac hosts the podcast Playing-A-Round with Paige Renee and has become a media sensation, often collaborating with brands like Good Good and attending events like the 2024 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue celebration.

Now, Paige stirred the pot with a new social media post on X, inviting fans to “Come practice with me.” In the accompanying video, she sported a floral crop top paired with a short purple/blue skirt, a look that quickly drew mixed reactions. While some fans loved her style, others weren’t so kind.

That’s probably a bad idea,” one commenter wrote, while another added, “God I wouldn’t be able to focus if I was golfing with you.” Others were less amused, with one saying, “Enough with this already,” and another joking, “Taking all the attention away from the cart girl“.

Too hot for the haters? Spiranac’s bold look sets off a firestorm

Spiranac, however, isn’t backing down. Known for embracing her virality, she refuses to apologize for her fashion choices on the course. She’s been vocal about the double standards women face in golf, especially when it comes to expressing their sexuality.

In a past statement, Spiranac addressed the criticism head-on: “I dislike how women pick and choose when it’s okay to support other women for embracing their sexuality depending on if it appears to be for the female or male gaze. Women should be able to embrace their sexuality if that’s what makes them feel empowered. One shouldn’t be called a genius while the other is called an attention whore for doing the same exact thing.”

Her latest post is a clear example of Spiranac leaning into her signature style, using social media to both showcase her golf skills and spark conversation. Fans on X have taken notice, with one posting, “Paige Spiranac looking amazing and shutting down the haters-love her energy!” The debate over her outfit highlights the ongoing tension in golf’s traditional culture, but Spiranac continues to champion self-expression, refusing to let critics dim her shine.
