Not everything is happiness: Jaxson Dart points out a player on his way out of the New York Giants

Since the New York Giants defeated Tom Brady’s New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI back in 2012, the team has only made the playoffs twice – in 2016 under Eli Manning and again in 2022 with Daniel Jones. However, the reality is that the franchise has turned into one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NFL, largely due to years of poor decisions.

After countless missteps, it finally seems like the Giants may have made a move that could change the future of the franchise: drafting rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. The team selected Dart in the first round of the most recent NFL Draft with the 25th overall pick, following a trade with the Houston Texans.

The Giants were heavily criticized at the time, but since Jaxson Dart became the starting quarterback in Week 4, the offense has transformed. The team looks competitive again, and there’s an energy in the locker room that hasn’t been felt since their 2022 playoff run.

Jalin Hyatt has requested a trade

In the 2023 NFL Draft, the New York Giants selected Jalin Hyatt in the third round after an outstanding college career with the Tennessee Volunteers. During his rookie season, Hyatt showed flashes of potential, recording 23 receptions for 373 yards. However, things have drastically gone downhill since then.

In the 2024 season, Hyatt managed just 8 receptions for 62 yards, and so far this season, he has only 3 catches for 17 yards. He was even listed as inactive for the recent game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The criticism hasn’t stopped coming, especially since expectations were high after his impressive college performance.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Jalin Hyatt is now seeking a trade before the November 4 trade deadline, hoping for a fresh start elsewhere in the NFL. There’s no doubt he still has talent – he just may need a new environment to reach his potential.

It’s worth noting that the Giants’ wide receiver group has been ravaged by injuries, most notably the season-ending knee injury to Malik Nabers. As a result, Jaxson Dart’s primary targets in the passing game are now Wandale Robinson and Darius Slayton.
