The writing has seemingly been on the wall for A.J. Brown‘s future with the Philadelphia Eagles for a little while. The 2025 season was filled with nothing but frustration for the wide receiver, who never seemed happy and even got into it with head coach Nick Sirianni on a couple of occasions.

When the Eagles fired much-maligned offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo, it opened up the possibility of Brown remaining in Philadelphia. With a new OC coming in, that could provide more opportunities for the Eagles offense to succeed, with Brown playing a crucial role. But this week, Sirianni splashed some cold water on the notion of Brown staying in Philly.

While speaking to the media, Sirianni did exclaim praise for his wide receiver, saying that Brown is “a great player” and “a good teammate“. The head coach wants to have him at his disposal, but he made no guarantees that Brown will be an Eagle in 2026.

I can’t guarantee how anything’s going to play out into the next season. I can’t guarantee that, I mean, I’m thinking I’m going to be the head coach season, but it’s like, you can’t guarantee anything past tomorrow.

While Sirianni awaits the front office’s decision on his wideout’s future, Brown is busy trying to help his fellow peers off the field.

Brown recently posted an emotional, strong message to athletes around the league. Brown implored his fellow players to not get down on themselves when they feel that they are failing. Instead, they have to look at the bigger picture.

While at times many might paint Brown as a diva, he simply has a different way of viewing his role in the world. He knows football is just a game, and there are way more important things in life.
