The Dallas Cowboys have been inconsistent, to say the least, through the first seven games of their season. Sitting with a 3-3-1 record, the Cowboys have been more competitive than many expected, but they’ve had disappointing performances in other spots.
They followed up a dominating win against the New York Jets with a loss to the Carolina Panthers, then turned around to crush the Washington Commanders at home. No one quite knows what to expect from the team when they head to Denver for Week 8, but what we do know is that some of their players will have lighter wallets.
Javonte Williams and George Pickens fined for Cowboys-Commanders actions
The NFL announced their fines from the Week 7 contests, and the Cowboys featured heavily on the list. The league tagged four Cowboys players with fines. Safety Donovan Wilson saw the heftiest fine.
- Donovan Wilson: $23,186 for unnecessary roughness, use of the helmet
- Javonte Williams: $16,830 for unnecessary roughness, use of the helmet
- George Pickens: $11,593 for taunting
- Brock Hoffman: $6,111 for taunting
Running back Javonte Williams had his big day soured by the fine, as did wide receiver George Pickens. It’s perhaps no surprise that Williams was fined given his aggressive running style, but it worked to the tune of 116 yards on the ground in the win over Washington. Pickens’ taunting penalty came on a day where he racked up 82 yards through the air.
