Mike Vrabel returns to the place that made him one of the best linebackers of his generation, as he has been hired as the new head coach of the New England Patriots.
Although the terms of the contract have not been disclosed, Vrabel and the Patriots signed a multi-year agreement that makes the former player the 16th head coach in the history of the franchise, which was born in 1960.
Vrabel was the Patriots’ linebacker from 2001 to 2008, and won three Super Bowl rings with the team that was coached by Bill Belichick and with Tom Brady at quarterback, in one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history.
After retiring, Vrabel had his first and only experience as a head coach with the Tennessee Titans between the 2018 and 2023 seasons.
