Mike Tyson is still feeling the effects of his November 2024 bout against Jake Paul, revealing that he has yet to fully recover from the high-profile fight.

At 58 years old, Tyson made history by stepping back into the ring against the 28-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer, but in a recent interview, he admitted that the experience took a toll on his body.

Speaking at the 2025 Pegasus World Cup on January 25, Tyson gave an update on his condition.

“I feel pretty good,” the former heavyweight champion told the Post.

“I don’t know if I’m 100 percent recovered, but I feel good.”

Tyson’s fight against Paul ended in a unanimous decision victory for the younger fighter, with the judges scoring the bout 80-72, 79-73, 79-73. But for Tyson, the biggest concern wasn’t just losing the match-it was what happened during the fight itself.

Tyson’s struggles

In a post-fight interview, Tyson made a shocking admission, claiming that he couldn’t remember parts of the fight.

“I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out a little,” he told Fox Sports Radio in December. “I remember coming back from the first round and Jake is doing some kind of … I don’t know what he was doing (leans forward pretending to bow) and that’s the last thing I remember.”

His memory lapses raised concerns about the impact the fight had on his health. But even before stepping into the ring, Tyson had already faced serious medical issues in 2024.

In June of that year, he suffered a major health scare while on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. Reports revealed that he became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up just 30 minutes before landing. His condition was serious enough that medical staff had to attend to him immediately upon arrival.

Tyson later revealed that the situation had been far worse than initially reported.

“I almost died in June,” he shared on X. “Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in the hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.”
