Los Angeles Dodgers are preparing to start the 2025 season on the tour of Tokyo, where they will face the Chicago Cubs on March 18 and 19, in what will mark the beginning of their defense of their World Series title, with the tag of favorites to retain the crown.

The powerful team has been joined by important pieces to excite its fans, among them the addition of star right fielder Michael Conforto, who with only nine days of activity in Spring Training

Although individual statistics during preseason are usually anecdotal, Conforto already has a .304 average, with four doubles in his first nine games. He did not see action in Saturday’s 5-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox, but last Friday he went 2-for-3, where he hit a home run and drove in three runs in the 6-4 win over the Seattle Mariners.

Dodgers fans get excited about Conforto

The numbers excite Dodgers fans, and on the Athlon Sports page, some comments from Los Angeles fans who have flocked to praise the signing of the former San Francisco Giants outfielder, on a one-year, $17 million deal, were highlighted. This will allow Mookie Betts to focus on the task he left unfinished last season and, with more peace of mind, to try his hand at shortstop again, confident that right field is in good hands.

“He’s coming off a somewhat ‘down’ year, in a stadium that hinders his production,” one user posted on the X account, while another added: “I’m not saying he’ll be an All-Star in 2025, but I definitely think he could be one of the most underrated signings of the entire MLB offseason.”

Conforto has a .251 batting average, 167 home runs and an .804 OPS in nine seasons. He has shown great power at the plate throughout his career, even hitting 33 home runs in 2019.

One fan noted that Conforto looks more comfortable at the plate, in an effect that is not new and may be due to the effect of wearing the Dodgers uniform and another fan said: “Michael Conforto is going to be a great signing.”
