The biggest offseason storyline for the Dallas Cowboys has undoubtedly been Micah Parsons’ path to a new contract, as he seeks to become the highest-paid non-quarterback player in the NFL.

Parsons is expected to surpass Ja’Marr Chase and Myles Garrett in earnings, possibly even before the 2025 NFL season kicks off. Without a doubt, he’ll be the team’s cornerstone, even more than quarterback Dak Prescott, who has a $240 million contract.

DeMarvion Overshown Will Wear Jersey Number 0

The Dallas Cowboys, despite what many might say, are not just the most famous franchise in the United States, but arguably across the entire world. So making history with them guarantees you’ll be remembered forever.

Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown will become the first player in Cowboys history to wear the number 0 jersey. He wore number 13 during the 2024 season, but with the NFL’s new uniform policy, he took the opportunity to make history.

“As soon as they changed the policy and allowed the number 0 in the NFL, I knew it was meant for me,” Overshown said via the team’s website. “I was the first to wear it at Texas, I grew up a Longhorn and a Cowboys fan in the great state of Texas – I wear it as a badge of honor. Not many people can say they were the first to do something, and to say I’m the first to wear number 0 in Texas and the first to do it in Dallas Cowboys history, that’s a true honor.”

Overshown was a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft but missed his rookie season due to injury. In 2024, he delivered an impressive performance with 5 sacks and 1 interception.

Despite those solid numbers last season, a torn ligament ended his season early, and for now, he won’t be available at the start of the upcoming campaign.
