Micah Parsons’ trade from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers sent shockwaves through the NFL. The multimillion-dollar deal carries both short- and long-term implications for all parties involved-starting with the Week 4 showdown, where the star linebacker will face his former team.

After four months of tense negotiations between Parsons and the Cowboys, both sides agreed it was time to part ways. Green Bay acquired one of the league’s premier pass rushers, while Dallas received first-round draft picks in 2026 and 2027, along with Pro Bowl defensive tackle Kenny Clark.

Parsons had remained silent throughout the negotiation process, even showing up punctually for all offseason and preseason workouts. Now that the dust has settled, the former Cowboy has finally spoken out-admitting these were the most difficult months of his life.

Micah will now be on the opposite sidelines

Parsons’ reunion with Dallas will come sooner than expected. The Cowboys will host the Packers on September 28 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. But Parsons insists he’s not focused on revenge-he’s focused on making history with his new team.

“I didn’t have any say,”Parsons told reporters when asked about facing his former team. “I’d say I’m pretty lucky because I understand the rich history of the Packers. The fact that they were interested in me-and already have a tough team in the NFC-means a lot.”

Before the now-infamous trade, Parsons was already preparing to face Green Bay. “I was geared up and ready to play them, looking for revenge [for the 2023 Divisional Round loss]. Now, I’m on the other side of that history, ready to suit up and play for these guys. I’m very excited.”

Micah has something to prove

Now wearing green and gold, Parsons is a man with a mission: to prove Green Bay made the right call.

“I’m going to be ready. I’m here to win games, and I’m going to push these guys to do what we have to do to prove this organization was right about me,” he said.

Parsons may downplay the Week 4 matchup, but fans from both sides will be watching closely-ready to shout a resounding “I told you so” at whoever walks away with the loss.
