When the Green Bay Packers pulled off a stunning trade for Micah Parsons, the general consensus was that the Dallas Cowboys made a grave mistake. Jerry Jones decided to trade away his best defensive player and a borderline generational talent, further weakening what was already a bad defensive unit.

Through six weeks this season, the Cowboys defense has been as bad as everyone imagined it would be without Parsons. Clips of Parsons being mugged by blockers have made the rounds on social media. It’s something we saw during his time with the Cowboys, too. Parsons just wants offensive and defensive players to get a balanced look from refs, but that doesn’t seem to be happening.

It’s been a trend over the last decade or so that rules changes have been put in place in order to provide more scoring opportunities for offenses. The NFL believes more points will lead to more viewers. That may be the case, but Parsons is one of the players who suffers because of that.
