Up to this point, Mark Sanchez had done well for himself after a successful NFL playing career. Sanchez took his football knowledge to the broadcast booth, starting out with a role for ESPN‘s college football coverage and then becoming a color commentator for NFL games on Fox Sports. Before Week 5, that success came to a halt.

Stunning news broke that Sanchez had been stabbed in downtown Indianapolis, a day before he had to call the Indianapolis Colts vs. Las Vegas Raiders game. But in a shocking turn of events, Sanchez was arrested at the hospital and charged with battery, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and publix intoxication. The narrative surrounding the incident obviously shifted, with evidence suggesting Sanchez was the instigator.

The battery charge was later upgraded to a felony, in addition to the three misdemeanors, and Sanchez is being sued by the 69-year-old he allegedly harassed and attacked, Perry Tole. Tole claims he stabbed Sanchez due to the former NFL quarterback persistently threatening and coming at him.
