It looks as though the legal troubles continue for Patrick Mahomes‘ father after new court documents reveal he failed to show up for a court-ordered drug test.

The test was meant to take place two days before the Super Bowl, which his son played in, and as a result of the no show, he must now wear an alcohol monitoring bracelet as per a Texas District Attorney.

This comes after Patrick Mahomes Sr. recently plead guilty to DWI after having a blood alcohol content of 0.23 during a traffic stop back on February 3, 2024. Despite this, a judge granted him permission to travel to the Super Bowl for the second year in a row.

It’s believed he has been arrested at least six times for driving while intoxicated, and it’s at least the 11th time he has been arrested since 2009.

Patrick Mahomes Sr got into altercation in New Orleans

Patrick Mahomes Sr. didn’t help his situation by getting into a heated exchange with former MLB pitcher John Rocker while on Bourbon Street in the lead-up to the Super Bowl.

While some believe the incident was staged in order to promote an upcoming boxing match between the two former MLB pitchers, the Texas District Attorney didn’t view it favourably.

Patrick Mahomes … due to the defendant’s extensive travel outside of Smith County for sports events it’s requested the defendant have an additional portable alcohol monitoring device when he’s not using his vehicle,” a District Attorney in Smith County, Texas requested to a judge.

While Mahomes Sr was allowed to travel to New Orleans for the Super Bowl, he was required to submit a urine test on February 11 and failed to do so.

Instead he appeared on February 12 to take the test, and passed. Documents show that an admin hearing was held to “admonish the defendant regarding the missed urinalysis and altercation,” as his actions continue to have no real consequences.
