Chicago Sky has been struggling without Angel Reese. The persistent back injury has gotten in the way of the 23-year-old forward, forcing her to miss seven consecutive games with the team.

Recently, Sky was defeated at Wintrust Arena by the Golden State Valkyries 90-59, racking up four losses in a row. However, the two-time All-Star continues to work for Chicago and caught the attention of one of the WNBA legends.

Angel shares her foundation’s achievements

On Saturday, August 16, the Sky star hosted a “Back to School Party,” an event aimed at providing assistance to children in Chicago.

At the event, promoted by the Angel C Reese Foundation and Reebok in collaboration with other sponsors, at least 1,000 students received free backpacks and school supplies.

In addition, the forward was present, met with her fans, and gave a community talk accompanied by her mother and special guests. Topics such as anti-bullying strategies and mental strength were discussed, as well as the role of parents in students’ lives. The event also featured live music, games, and food trucks.

The two-time All-Star shared a video summarizing the day with her more than five million followers on Instagram. However, one person who did not go unnoticed was a former star and three-time WNBA MVP.

Lisa Leslie saw the post and commented on it: “That’s awesome,” she wrote, adding two heart emojis.

When will Reese return to Sky?

Currently, Chicago Sky has an 8-25 record, second to last in the WNBA standings, only above Sun (6-27).

The absence of her 14.2 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game is being felt greatly.

The truth is that there is still no date set for her return. Coach Tyler Marsh has indicated that she will only return to the team when she is completely ready. For now, all we can do is wait.
