Balancing ambition with exhaustion is a challenge even for the most composed minds-and Savannah James is no exception.

While NBA icon LeBron James begins his offseason break, his wife, Savannah, is still pushing through the relentless rhythm of her own grind. Despite living in the public eye beside one of the world’s most famous athletes, Savannah is a powerhouse in her own right-running businesses, hosting a podcast, and raising a family.

In a recent episode of her podcast Everybody’s Crazy, Savannah peeled back the curtain on her personal struggles with overachievement and mental stamina.

Speaking to co-host and best friend April McDaniels in Season 3, Episode 4, she described the internal drive that often overrides her physical exhaustion.

“My mental is a bully. So, my mental is very strong. My body could be dead, and my mental’s like, ‘Get up. Get up right now and get to do a thing,'” Savannah shared.

“So I feel like, mentally, I’m very strong that it almost makes me think I’m invincible.”

Savannah James Craves Stillness Amid the Hustle

Savannah‘s daily reality involves juggling her beauty line, Reframe Beauty, leading her women’s community Let It Break, and delivering weekly podcast episodes.

That kind of schedule demands resilience-and often, she finds herself unable to slow down, even when she knows she should.

“You would think I have to conquer the world every single day… it just is like a very overachiever mentality,” she said. “Sometimes [it] doesn’t allow you to rest like you should because you’re just always overdoing.”

That relentlessness mirrors LeBron‘s own famed commitment to excellence.

From an elite training regimen to reportedly spending $1.5 million annually on his body, the Lakers forward exemplifies what it takes to compete at the highest level, even at age 40. And as Savannah herself notes, they share the same intense inner drive.

“I’m my hardest critic… me and LeBron have that in common: to strive for greatness. Like, as soon as my foot hits the edge of the bed, I’m like, boom!”

But even those built for greatness need space to breathe. In previous episodes, Savannah has admitted to feeling “heavy and icky” on some days, revealing that she struggles to shake off negative emotions. Despite this, she continues to show up-as a wife, mother, and entrepreneur-demonstrating that true strength often comes not from pushing through, but from knowing when to stop.

LeBron may be enjoying downtime, but Savannah’s candid reflections remind us that sometimes the hardest battles are invisible-and that resting is as essential to success as any hustle.
