Micah Parsons has officially requested a trade as the Dallas Cowboys linebacker’s patience with the Jones family runs out, with the star defensive player looking for new pastures for his NFL future and an associate of LeBron James proposes a stunning trade.

The four-time Pro Bowler, who has been a defensive cornerstone since his rookie year, made his intentions clear in a strongly worded social media statement on Friday.

“I stayed quiet but again after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys,” Parsons wrote via social media. “My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally.

“Unfortunately I no longer want to be here. I no longer want to be held to close door negotiations without my agent present.”

Parsons‘ discontent stems from a lack of movement on a contract extension. Entering the final year of his rookie deal, he is scheduled to earn $24.007 million in 2025-a figure significantly below the market rate for elite edge rushers.

Despite his standout performances and consistent production, the Cowboys have yet to finalize a new deal with the 26-year-old, who has logged at least 12 sacks in each of his four seasons. Now their time appears to have passed.

LeBron James’ friend proposes stunning Micah Parsons trade

The trade request immediately drew reactions across sports media and social platforms. Among the most notable came from Cuffs the Legend-a close friend of LeBron and a prominent social media personality known for his bold takes on football.

Reacting to the news, the pall of the four-time champion NBA star floated a scenario that would send shockwaves through the NFC East: Parsons joining the Cowboys‘ longtime rivals: the Philadelphia Eagles.

“If the Philadelphia Eagles somehow got Micah Parsons and he gets to play against Dallas in the division.. whew,” Cuffs the Legend posted on X.

The idea, while speculative, raises a dramatic possibility. A player of Micah‘s caliber switching allegiances within the division would not only strengthen the Eagles‘ defensive unit but also inject further intensity into one of the league’s most storied rivalries.

The defending champions would become absolute favorites to retain their crown and could spark a period of dominance in the NFC East that could take Dallas years to recover from.

However, this proposal, while unlikely due to the complications of intra-division trades, is not the only hypothetical destination for the All-Pro linebacker – who will likely have his pick of the bunch.

Several franchises, including the Las Vegas Raiders, Washington Commanders, Tennessee Titans, and Cleveland Browns, have been floated as potential suitors should Dallas choose to part ways with its defensive centerpiece.

There remains, however, a possibility that tensions could cool and Parsons could remain in Dallas, though time is running out.

If Jerry Jones thought Micah was bluffing before, this move makes it perfectly clear that he’s not – and fans will not be on the 82-year-old’s side if the NFL star leaves.
