Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves has given the NBA playoffs one of the biggest stories of the postseason so far.

The sixth seed of the Western Conference eliminated the third seed Los Angeles Lakers in five games during the first round of the playoffs.

LeBron James – arguably one of the best players in NBA’s history -, All-Star Luka Doncic and the rest of the Lakers couldn’t get past a Timberwolves team that was motivated by the naysayers and the experts that picked Los Angeles to make a deep run in the playoffs.

LeBron and the Lakers humiliate Gilbert Arenas

Gilbert “Agent Zero” Arenas was one of the most clutch players on his prime, as he made the Washington Wizards relevant in the early 2000’s. He was a three-time NBA All-Star, three time member of the All-NBA Team and the Most Improved Player in the 2002-03 season. It’s fair to say that he knows a thing or two about the league.

Arenas was so confident that the Los Angeles Lakers were going to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves that he accepted a bet made by a fan during his podcast “Gil’s Arena“. The challenge was simple: if LeBron James and the Lakers lost during the first round, Gilbert needed to dress as a clown during one of his shows.

And “Agent Zero” is a man of his words. Right after the elimination, Arenas dressed as a clown. He was a walking joke, and rightfully so, with co-host and former NBA player Nick Young “Swaggy P” mocking Gilbert for taking a ‘safe’ bet and turning it into a walking joke.

Lakers chance at a title seem far

LeBron James is 40 years old and there’s no doubt that he will be a first-ball Hall of Famer, as the sensational baller from Akron, Ohio has taken over the league for 22 seasons, a very impressive record that cannot be equalized. He has played long enough for him to be the only NBA player that has taken the court along his son.

With that being said, the end is near for LeBron’s amazing basketball career – at least as a player -, and many fans and experts think that next season will be his last. That puts the Los Angeles Lakers in an urgent position: they must get James some help in order to compete for another title.

The organization thought they got some great help with the addition of Slovenian superstar Luka Doncic – who they traded for with the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for center/forward Anthony Davis -, but the exciting shooter was not enough to overcome a lack of defense and depth in the Lakers’ roster. The clock is ticking, and the Purple and Gold need to find some solutions fast before LeBron retires from the NBA.
