LeBron James,Luka Doncic and the rest of the Los Angeles Lakers want to make a deep run in the playoffs and contend for the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy this year.

The California team is on the right track, currently fourth place in the Western Conference, just behind the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Houston Rockets and the Denver Nuggets.

The Lakers big trade with the Dallas Mavericks – when they acquired superstar Luka Doncic in exchange for former All-Star center Anthony Davis – has paid off, as the team created a partnership that can cause some serious problems for any team that’s contending.

LeBron James and Lakers locker room problem exposed

Even though all things are clicking right now for the Lakers, there is a problem that the head coach, JJ Redick, and some players have adressed it publicly, as they hope that the issue can be solved before the start of the NBA playoffs, on April 19.

The problem is forward Dorian Finney-Smith‘s not taking more shots and helping the team with the offensive load. Monday night, the former Florida Gators standout who went undrafted, had a breakout performance against the Houston Rockets, as he dropped 20 points off the bench, draining six threes along the way.

However, Redick wants Dorian to take more shots. “It should have been 14. He should have shot 14. He passed up three.” the head coach said after the game. JJ went on to say that the Lakers trust the veteran forward and they want him to have the confidence to knock down shots night after nigth.

Lakers want to make another move in the summer

The Los Angeles Lakers know that they will need all the help they can get in order for LeBron James and Luka Doncic to be succesful for the near future. According to Bleacher Report, general manager Rob Pelinka is interested in thye services of Atlanta Hawks center Clint Capela, who could become a free agent came May.

“After being benched in favor of Onyeka Okongwu and dangled in trade talks before the deadline, the early expectation is Hawks center Clint Capela will sign elsewhere in unrestricted free agency this summer, league sources told HoopsHype.” wrote Michael Scotto.

Capela will turn 31 years old in May and isn’t quite the player he was early in his career. He’s also battled injuries in recent years and is currently sidelined with a ligament injury in his left hand. But he’s still a pretty efficient defender who can become an asset for the Lakers, if they were to pursue him in free agency.
