Stephen A. Smith has broken the barriers of the secrets that, according to him, he knows about LeBron James. But should such a media personality from ESPN do this on national television, even though it’s a reaction to the king’s provocation of attacking him in the most recent episode of Pat McAfee? The answer is definitely a gray area.
LeBron James returns and catches Stephen A. Smith off guard, appearing on Pat McAfee’s show, where he talked about the altercation with Smith in an NBA game, where he was confronting him about his words regarding his son Bronny James. Apparently, this was the trigger for STA to reveal the darkest secrets of the NBA King, his mysterious absence at Kobe Bryant’s funeral, and the induction of Dwyane Wade into the NBA Hall of Fame.
“I never said the real reason why you didn’t go to Kobe Bryant’s funeral or the most important ceremony for your brother,” were the questions that Smith left for his audience during his defensive monologue. “Despite you attacking me publicly, I’ve never told the truth about that,” he continued, digging deeper for the dirty laundry to come out into the open.
More salt on LeBron’s wound
As if that wasn’t enough, Stephen A. Smith’s attack on LeBron James took a more direct turn to seek out the pain of the King. “You’re not the GOAT, in my books, and you’ll never be,” were the words of the ESPN First Take host to defend himself from James’ “hits” on national television.
As Stephen A. Smith got heated, his words became more powerful and challenging. Smith said that if LeBron James was happy to see him cover the sport, he should be happy if he talked about things he had never talked about, all while looking directly at the camera in a defiant tone.
For many fans, it’s sad that the attention of the essence of sports is focused on fights between hosts and not on the games and healthy entertainment. What will be the next chapter in this situation worthy of a Netflix series? Surely James vs. Smith will have a third episode.
