While rookies try to secure their places on the team, veterans take advantage of minicamp to fine-tune their fitness and mentally prepare for the challenges ahead at the start of the season.

For the Raiders, these intensive work sessions will be fundamental in building a competitive team for the upcoming campaign, especially after the recent additions made during the draft and free agency

Attendance at these minicamps is mandatory, unlike the voluntary sessions of previous weeks, ensuring that the coaching staff can evaluate the entire roster as a whole. This stage represents the last major tune-up before training camp, which will eventually give way to preseason games and finally the start of the regular season in September.

Complete NFL minicamp schedule

Most NFL teams, including the Las Vegas Raiders, have scheduled their mandatory minicamps for June 10-12. However, there are some notable exceptions around the league.

The Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks will wait an extra week to hold their sessions, while the Chicago Bears started earlier, from June 3-5, deviating from the league’s general schedule.

A particular case is that of the Detroit Lions, the only team that has decided to completely cancel its mandatory minicamp this year, opting to shorten its offseason training program. This decision is in response to a specific strategy: they will begin their training camp a little earlier this year, as they will participate in the Hall of Fame opening game on July 31 against the Los Angeles Chargers, which modifies their entire summer planning.

In the AFC West, to which the Raiders belong, all teams except the Chiefs will follow the standard schedule of June 10-12

The Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Chargers will also hold their workouts on these dates, creating simultaneous preparation between teams that will compete directly during the regular season.

Importance of minicamp for the Raiders

The mandatory minicamp represents a critical phase for the Las Vegas Raiders, especially considering the personnel moves made during the offseason

This facilitates a comprehensive assessment of the available talent and allows coaches to work on team cohesion, a key element in facing the demanding season that is about to begin.

For the Raiders, these sessions represent much more than just training; they are an opportunity to build the team’s identity, strengthen internal leadership and lay the tactical foundations that will define their approach to the early season games in September.
