Lamine Yamal continues to take firm steps both on and off the pitch. The 18-year-old Barcelona starlet is close to completing the purchase of one of the most iconic properties in the world of entertainment and sport: the mansion where Gerard Pique and Shakira lived together during their relationship.
Located in the exclusive Ciutat Diagonal development in Esplugues de Llobregat (Barcelona), the property stands out for its privacy and security, as well as its proximity to other players at the club, such as Alejandro Balde and Ronald Araujo. The complex, valued at 14 million euros ($16,5 million dolars), includes three houses built on a 3,800 square meter plot of land, with indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gymnasium and multiple luxury spaces.
Yamal will occupy the main house, which was sold this summer for more than three million euros. The idea, according to El Pais and El Periodico, is to transform the family home into a high-performance residence for an elite sportsman. The player will have his own gymnasium, physical trainer, physiotherapist, areas to receive friends and a reinforced security system.
The mansion was designed in 2012 by architect Mireia Admetller with the intention of becoming the refuge of Shakira, Pique, their children and their parents. Years later, it becomes the new home of one of the great promises of world football, who also shares a relationship with Argentine singer Nicki Nicole, in a curious coincidence with the former couple who lived in the house.
This acquisition would mark a new chapter in Yamal’s life. Despite being focused on his physical recovery and a season of ups and downs, he is consolidating his present as a key figure for Barcelona and Spain.
With this deal, Yamal would not only gain a dream home but also tread on the ground once occupied by one of the most high-profile couples of the last decade, opening up a new era marked by discretion, professionalism and sporting ambition
