Lamar Jackson manages to break Drake‘s Curse with a stunning performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers as he guides the Baltimore Ravens to the AFC Divisional Game with a 28-14 victory in Maryland on January 11.

Throwing for 175 yards and two touchdowns on just 16 completed passes (76%), the 28-year-old proved why he’s in the MVP running to send a statement that his NFL Playoffs slumps are a thing of the past with an extra 81 yards on 15 carries.

But his most impressive achievement may come from the fact that he managed to repel the Canadian rapper’s jinx after the 38-year-old staked $210,000 on the Ravens to slip by Russell Wilson’s Steelers, taking home $630,000.

The bet line read the Ravens to win with Jackson at 0.5 for an anytime touchdown and that’s exactly what he got at 2/1 odds suggesting 2025 could actually be his year, at least when it comes to risking money online with Stake.

Previously, the God’s Plan lyricist hasn’t fared so well. During the 2024 NBA Finals he risked $500,000 on the Dallas Mavericks against the Boston Celtics, but they lost. In the 2024 Stanley Cup Final, he put half a million on the Edmonton Oilers but they were shocked by the Florida Panthers.

This is actually the second notable time Jackson has been involved in a Drake winning bet, but he won’t have fond memories of the other. $1.5m was on the line as the Ravens took on the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2023 AFC Conference Championship game, only it was $1.5m on Patrick Mahomes. The Chiefs won 17-10.
