Kylian Mbappe makes history with Real Madrid and joins an exclusive list alongside Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi

Real Madrid drew 1-1 with Girona, with Kylian Mbappe scoring from the penalty spot in the 67th minute and Azzedine Ounahi scoring in the 45th minute.

However, this match was not just another game for the French striker, as this goal was his 60th of the year, putting him alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in an important statistic.

Mbappé achieves a historic record with Real Madrid

Over the last two decades, the current captains of Al Nassr and Inter Miami have stolen the show with their goals and feats that have remained in the hearts of all soccer fans.

The truth is that only they and Robert Lewandowski had been the only three players to score 60 goals in a single yeart his century. With his goal against Girona, Kylian became the fourth player to achieve this feat, thanks to the 53 goals he scored with his club and another 7 with the France national team.

This milestone is even more special because it had not been achieved by a French player in 67 years: the last to do so was Just Fontaine in 1958, according to Goal.

Meanwhile, although these numbers demonstrate Kylian’s exceptional efficiency, this draw has increased the pressure on Xabi Alonso’s team as they extended their winless streak away from home to their third league game.

Despite this, Kylian still has five games (four in LaLiga and one in the Champions League) to continue increasing his goal tally with Real Madrid and break that losing streak: against Athletic Club on Wednesday, Dec. 3. Then they host Celta Vigo at the Bernabéu on Sunday, Dec. 7, and Manchester City on Wednesday, Dec. 10 (Champions League).

They close out this year’s schedule with a visit to Deportivo Alaves on Sunday, Dec. 14, and a home game against Sevilla on Friday, Dec. 20.
