Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Keyshawn Davis is determined that Gervonta Davis will look at him and dare to respond to his challenge to put his WBA and WBO titles on the line. This would be a normal affair, one of those that happen every day, were it not for the fact that Keyshawn knows ‘Tank’ inside out, as he trained him not long ago and claims to know him so well that he knows what his weaknesses are, which he plans to exploit.

Keyshawn has long put his finger on the pulse and with his statements has made it clear that Gervonta is on his radar, as he did last November after knocking out Gustavo Lemos: “What kind of resume does he have? He doesn’t have a fucking resume, man,” he said to get along with ‘Tank’, who is the one he really wants.

The 25-year-old now has a commitment to face the WBO champion, Denys Berinchyk, but Gervonta is in his head, and his rival on February 14 is just an obstacle he plans to shake off to ask for an ‘audience’ with ‘Tank’ again.

Keyshawn Davis knows ‘Tank’ perfectly

Keyshawn was recently on All the Smoke Fight where he was asked: “In your fight, you called out Tank. What makes you so confident that you can solve that puzzle?“, to which he confidently replied: “I’ve already been in the ring with Tank twice, training him… As he’s the best, I’m challenging him because I know I can kick his ass.”

Gervonta Davis would be the first truly elite opponent Keyshawn would face if their fight were to come to fruition, although no one can deny that he is a rising star, something he wants to make clear in the ring at New York’s Madison Square Garden, especially for ‘Tank’, who by the way has not said a word, neither for better nor for worse, perhaps because he no longer wants to know anything in this, his farewell year from boxing, as he has repeated on several occasions.
