Since the 2025 NFL Draft, Shedeur Sanders and the Cleveland Browns have been a major topic of discussion among NFL media and fans. This week, longtime Browns reporter Mary Kay Cabot revealed that the franchise chose to draft Shedeur not only for his skills, but also because they wanted the Sanders family to stop suffering from his draft slide.

“The Browns liked him throughout this entire process, that’s why they jumped back up there in the fifth round and grabbed him. I don’t think they wanted to see Shedeur suffer anymore, and Deion suffer anymore, and they wanted to give this young man a chance in the NFL that they felt he deserves”, said Cabot.

The news has fueled even more speculations about the relationship between Deion Sanders and the Browns front office and Head Coach Kevin Stefanski.

Stefanski didn’t hesitate and gave a clear answer: “I don’t know Deion well. Not speaking to Deion on a regular basis. Really not speaking to any coaches on a regular basis. I think we’re all pretty busy,” he said.

However, he did reveal that “Deion has a great relationship” with the Browns and even mentioned that some of Colorado’s staff visited the Browns’ facility to exchange ideas. Still, Stefanski made it clear-Coach Prime isn’t hitting up his phone.
