With Shedeur Sanders as one of the main protagonists of the Cleveland Browns‘ Organized Team Activities (OTAs), a crucial stage has begun for the team, where fans can get their first glimpse of how the four quarterbacks vying for the starting role perform within the roster.
It’s expected to be an open competition with no clear favorite to start, meaning Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and the aforementioned former Colorado QB all have equal chances to earn the spot.

Pickett says everyone is friends in the Browns
Who will be the Week 1 starter has been a hot topic among fans and analysts surrounding the franchise. However, the players themselves have dismissed any notions of tension.
Kenny Pickett was one of them, stating: “When you’re day-to-day, you’re in meetings with these guys, you’re out at practice, you spend so much time together,” Pickett commented. “Of course we’re all competing, but you become friends with everybody. I think it’s a great media headline, but when you get in the building in a quarterback room, at least all the ones that I’ve been in, you really become friends with these guys and we’re just pushing each other.”
Despite Pickett and Flacco bringing a combined 20 years of NFL experience, all four quarterbacks are vying for the starting job. Beyond the media narrative suggesting division, the Browns are working as a team and aiming to find the solution to become a winning team.
