Former Travis Kelce girlfriend Kayla Nicole has once again made her voice heard on social media, this time responding to comments made by Tyreek Hill, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver and former Kansas City Chiefs teammate of Kelce.

Hill recently participated in a rapid-fire interview with GQ, where he revealed an unexpected favorite restaurant in Kansas City.

When asked about his go-to dining spot in the city known for its barbecue, Hill said, “Growing up, my whole entire life, that’s all my mom fed me was Popeye’s fried chicken. That’s probably the secret ingredient to why I’m really fast. ‘Cause that’s all my mom poured into us kids,” according to GQ Sports on Saturday.

For Hill, Popeye’s represents nostalgia and a link to his childhood, but not everyone shared his enthusiasm.

Kayla Nicole took to Instagram Stories to voice her perspective, making it clear she disagrees with Hill’s praise of the fast food chain.

“Nooooo only a mothers home cooked meal can make greatness (angry emoji) grrrr,” she wrote, highlighting her belief that the personal touch of a mother’s cooking outweighs fast food, even for a star athlete.

Kayla Nicole weighs in on NFL fashion

Nicole‘s social media commentary isn’t limited to food. She recently shared her thoughts on a new line of Nike footwear that strayed from the brand’s classic design, specifically taking aim at Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow‘s cleats.

During a preseason game against the Philadelphia Eagles on August 7, Burrow wore the Air Jordan 1 Mid “Shattered Backboards” custom cleats, which notably lacked the iconic Nike swoosh.

“The swoosh-less 1’s are upsetting me,” Nicole wrote on Instagram over an image of Burrow mid-game.

Kayla Nicole has built a name for herself beyond being Travis Kelce’s ex

For partners of high-profile athletes, public attention often rises in tandem with the player’s fame. Kayla Nicole is no exception.

Even after ending her relationship with Kelce in 2022, Nicole has maintained a strong presence in the NFL conversation.

Nicole, who graduated from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, with a journalism degree in 2018, has leveraged her education and charisma to carve out a niche in the world of media and pop culture.

Over the years, she has worked with outlets including ESPN and Barstool Sports, building credibility as a skilled interviewer and commentator.

In April 2025, she launched her own podcast, The Pre-Game With Kayla Nicole, giving her a platform to explore sports, lifestyle, and wellness topics. Beyond podcasting, Nicole is an entrepreneur.

She founded Tribe Therep, a wellness brand, and has worked as a brand ambassador for companies such as Revolve and Savage X Fenty, blending her media presence with business savvy.
