The Baltimore Ravens haven’t forgotten last year’s bitter loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The controversial ending left a sour taste in Lamar Jackson & Co.’s mouths–one they hope to wash away with a statement win this Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 4 of the 2025 NFL season.

Games between the Chiefs and Ravens are often decided in the final moments, and last year’s season opener was no exception. The two teams battled fiercely, with Kansas City holding a narrow 27-20 lead in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter.

With seconds remaining, Jackson connected with tight end Isaiah Likely in the end zone. But while the Ravens were still deciding between a game-tying extra point or a go-for-broke two-point conversion, instant replay overturned the touchdown–handing the Chiefs the win.

Baltimore is ready to rewrite the script

Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City have dominated the rivalry, winning six of the last seven meetings–including a 17-10 victory in the 2023 AFC Championship Game. The Chiefs have also won their last three games at Arrowhead Stadium.

As usual, this matchup looks evenly matched. Both teams enter Week 4 with 1-2 records. The Chiefs notched their first win of the season last week against the Giants, while the Ravens’ lone victory came in Week 2 against the Browns.

Win or watch the playoffs slip away

Only one team in NFL history has won a Super Bowl after starting 1-3: the 2001 New England Patriots, in Tom Brady’s rookie season. If Baltimore or Kansas City wants to keep their championship dreams alive, the time to win is now.

The Chiefs currently sit at the bottom of the AFC West, trailing the undefeated Los Angeles Chargers (3-0). Meanwhile, the Ravens are third in the AFC North, chasing the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1).

Thanks for joining us for this play-by-play. The Chiefs won 37-20 to improve their record to 2-2, maintaining their playoff hopes, while the Ravens fell to 1-3 and have work to do if they want to rebound this season.

Beyond the bloated score, the Ravens have two concerns: their porous offensive line and Jackson’s hamstring. The latter could be a minor setback, but the former could determine the rest of the team’s season.

Good afternoon! Welcome to this play-by-play of the Kansas City Chiefs-Baltimore Ravens game. We hope you enjoy this broadcast and may the best team win.

What to watch in Kansas City

The Chiefs’ defense has been solid this season, allowing just 579 yards and three touchdowns passing, and 342 yards and three touchdowns rushing.

However, this week they will face the NFL’s best scoring offense, which has scored 10 touchdowns, nine of them passing, and is averaging 9.6 yards per pass attempt.

What to watch in the Ravens

Baltimore’s front line hasn’t lived up to expectations. In the game against Detroit alone, they allowed Lamar Jackson to be sacked seven times. In fact, the Lions didn’t even need a blitz to stop Jackson or rush him behind the line of scrimmage.

If the Ravens’ offensive line doesn’t clean up its act, the Chiefs’ linebackers could have a field day.

Player to watch in Kansas City

Receiver Xavier Worthy has been cleared to return to play following the shoulder injury he suffered in a collision with Patrick Mahomes in Week 1.

The Chiefs have missed their speedster in the deep end, but it’s still unclear how head coach Andy Reid will use him in this game. If Worthy is 100 percent, we might see him take almost every snap, but if he still needs rest, he might only participate in some special packages.

Player to watch in Baltimore

Running back Derrick Henry has been the Ravens’ wild card this season. Although he has 242 yards on 41 carries, averaging 80.7 yards per game, he has also fumbled once in each game this season.

His fourth-quarter fumbles against the Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions cost the Ravens two painful losses. The Chiefs’ defenders will be hunting Henry down, taking advantage of every opportunity to steal the ball from him.

Where to watch Baltimore vs. Kansas City on TV

CBS will broadcast the game live with Jim Nantz calling the play-by-play, Tony Romo as an analyst, and Tray Wolfson on the sidelines.

Paramount+ will stream in-market and globally on YouTube TV via NFL Sunday Ticket.

Kickoff from Arrowhead Stadium and odds

The game kicks off at 4:25 p.m. ET (2:25 p.m. CT / 1:25 p.m. PT) at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

The Ravens are the oddsmakers’ favorites by 2.5 points, with an over/under of 48.5 points. Baltimore offers a -151 moneyline, compared to +127 for Kansas City.

Chiefs favored by three points in high-stakes showdown with Ravens

Patrick Mahomes vs. Lamar Jackson could decide which AFC powerhouse sinks to 1-3.

The Kansas City Chiefs enter Week 4 as three-point favorites over the Baltimore Ravens in a matchup that could define both teams’ seasons. One franchise will climb back to .500 at 2-2, while the other faces a daunting 1-3 start — a dangerous hole for two squads expected to be AFC contenders.

Kansas City’s offense has looked strangely out of rhythm to begin 2025, but Sunday’s clash at Arrowhead may provide the spark they need. The return of rookie wideout Xavier Worthy is expected to help reignite Patrick Mahomes’ passing attack, which has struggled to find consistency through the first three weeks.

A litmus test for Kansas City’s defense

Defensively, Steve Spagnuolo’s unit faces its toughest test yet. Lamar Jackson remains one of the league’s most electrifying dual threats, and pairing him with Derrick Henry gives Baltimore a chance to control the game on the ground.

Spagnuolo has managed to keep Henry in check in past meetings, but the former NFL Offensive Player of the Year is always one big run away from changing everything.

Baltimore’s defense is a patchwork quilt

The Ravens, however, come into this matchup banged up on defense — and that could tilt the balance. Mahomes and company will look to exploit Baltimore’s injuries, while Kansas City’s secondary must be sharp to contain Jackson’s improvisation.

Expect a nail-biter. While some analysts believe Baltimore’s firepower will be too much for the Chiefs, Kansas City’s home-field advantage and a steady Harrison Butker could prove decisive.
