Juan Soto’s performance in his first month with theNew York Mets has not lived up to what was expected of the most expensive player in Major League Baseball history, with a $765 million contract over 15 seasons.

Soto delivered good accounts in the Washington Nationals, in the San Diego Padres and shone in the New York Yankees, making a duo with Aaron Judge, to reach the World Series, although they failed to deliver the final blow and lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Juan Soto’s numbers in his first 108 at-bats with the Mets are quite modest with only three home runs, a .250 average, 12 RBIs and a .772 OPS, far from what he recorded in his only year with the Yankees, with 41 home runs and a .288 average.

Fans suspect Juan Soto is not happy with the Mets

A recent video shared by MLB expert KTB.Kendrick in which Juan Soto approached his teammates to pose for the camera, only to show a smile that seemed somewhat forced and immediately walk away, led fans to wonder if he is really fitting in with the team or is uncomfortable with the locker room.

The euphoria of his teammates after thrashing the Nationals 19-5, which tied the series at two, was a reason to be happy, but at least in the video, Soto‘s smile did not reflect that he shared the same feeling as his teammates.

Despite the fact that individually, Soto’s numbers do not match his millionaire contract, collectively the Mets are the best team in Major League Baseball with a 21-9 record, so they are not only above the Dodgers in the National League, they are also the bosses in New York, with the Yankees with a record of 18-12.

On the page Essentially Sports, some fan reactions to the video were highlighted: “Soto didn’t even want to be there, SMH,” while another saw the positive side and added: “I’m sure he likes to win” and one more went to the extreme by considering that if he is not comfortable, “maybe he should ask for a trade then. It’s funny that hasn’t happened and won’t happen.”
