Although Patrick Mahomes got a one-year head start on Josh Allen, it didn’t take long for the Buffalo Bills quarterback to start putting pressure on the Kansas City Chiefs signal-caller. Since 2019, the two have developed an incredible rivalry in the AFC.
Naturally, Mahomes and Allen have become two of the most notable players in the entire sport. Off the field, they’ve been in another competition: in terms of jerseys sold. For 2025, Allen took the lead in a big way in both the United States and Canada.
Josh Allen leads NFL jersey sales in 2025, Patrick Mahomes falls out of Top 10 and four 49ers make list
It’s not a surprise that Allen is more popular in Canada, given that Buffalo is quite close to the northern continent. There’s a quite large contingent of Canadians who are Bills fans, which naturally means they would purchase Allen jerseys over other players.
But it is slightly surprising that Allen also edged out Mahomes in the United States. But not only did Allen beat out Mahomes; the Chiefs quarterback was nowhere close. Mahomes was out of the Top 10 in jersey sales this season, according to NFL Shop.
- Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills
- Drake Maye, QB, New England Patriots
- Fred Warner, LB, San Francisco 49ers
- Jaxson Smith-Njigba, WR, Seattle Seahawks
- Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
- Caleb Williams, QB, Chicago Bears
- CeeDee Lamb, WR, Dallas Cowboys
- Christian McCaffrey, RB, San Francisco 49ers
- George Kittle, TE, San Francisco 49ers
- Brock Purdy, QB, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers fans clearly had some leftover cash to spend, as four of their players made the Top 10. Plenty of Chiefs fans already have Mahomes jerseys, plus he was injured late in what was a lost season for the team. That could explain the lower jersey sales numbers than usual for the QB.
Drake Maye‘s breakout season with the New England Patriots saw him shoot up the leaderboards. It looks like Allen has in-division competition heading into 2026, at least in this respect.
